Contest Environment:
  • Guidelines
    • Internet access will NOT be provided during the contest.
    • Contestants are allowed to carry booklets, reference material during the contest (there is no limit on this). Additionally, a team is allowed to carry a maximum of 20 MB (archived and compressed zip file) soft copy files/notes during the contest. Note: File name convention should be your team_handle.zip
    • Contestants can carry their own keyboards and mouse to facilitate convenience.
    • During the contest, the contestants are allowed to take print outs.
    • Electronic devices are not allowed in the contest arena.

Travel & Visa:
  • Visa (for non-Indian nationals):
    • Foreign teams will have to obtain their visa prior to the onsite finale.
    • CodeChef will reimburse the visa application fee for top 15 teams. For more information on Visa process and documents visit: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/
  • Travel:
    • Travel expenses for the top 25 teams:
      • Top 15 teams will be entitled for an all expense paid trip to Mumbai.
      • The rest of the 10 teams will have to meet their own travel expenses.

      Note: In case top 25 slots don't get filled, the next best teams will be given a chance, up to rank 100 in the Elimination Round.

    • Travel expenses of 32 additional slots:
      • One top school team (should be among the top 200 overall ranks in the Elimination Round to be eligible for the onsite finale.) will be entitled for an all expense paid trip to Mumbai.
      • One top female team(should be among the top 200 overall ranks in the Elimination Round to be eligible for the onsite finale.) will be entitled for an all expense paid trip to Mumbai.
      • 30 Indian teams
        • Top 25 Indian teams
          • Top 10 Indian teams from the Elimination Round get an assured invite to the Onsite finale and will be entitled for an all expense paid trip to Mumbai.
          • The next 15 Indian teams from the Elimination Round get an invite provided that they come in top 100 overall ranks.
        • 3 Top Indian School Teams (They should be among the top 200 overall ranks in the Elimination Round to be eligible for the onsite finale.) will be entitled for an all expense paid trip to Mumbai.
        • 2 Top Indian Female Teams (They should be among the top 200 overall ranks in the Elimination Round to be eligible for the onsite finale.) will be entitled for an all expense paid trip to Mumbai.
  • Local Transport: Transportation to and fro the following destinations shall be provided by CodeChef:
    • Airport - Please find a placard with ‘Welcome to SnackDown 2017’ when you arrive at the airport.
    • Hotel
    • Contest Arena
    • And for the fun activities arranged by CodeChef on the last day.
Food & Stay:
  • Stay: CodeChef will arrange accommodation for all the finalists for the entire duration of the finale. Should you choose to extend your stay in India, you will have to make your arrangements.
  • Food: The food will be arranged along with the accommodation for the finalists.
  • Stay Extension: If you want, you may also extend your stay in India. Let us know in advance if you want to do so, so that we may help you in extending your return tickets. We have tied up with a very good travel agency (India Someday) who can assist you in planning your trip.

This is a mock session setup to get comfortable with your environment. Check your keyboards, type in your bashrc files, set up your editors, code templates, find out the server FLOPS. Check if code that you have sent, exists. Do whatever you need to make sure you are prepared to give your best in the main contest.

This is something that most of you will be waiting for. Especially for those who think that the time limit was too strict or think that the test cases wronged you. Before we bid farewell to all the finalists, we have an entire day set aside for you to enjoy your time here in Mumbai.
There are multiple activities that we are planning for the finalists. We shall take your outdoor activity preferences at the time of teregistrations and make necessary arrangements accordingly.

3rd July 2017, Monday Day-V: Departure

Goodbye! Wrapping up SnackDown 2017.

  • The SnackDown 2017 Finale is scheduled for 29th June to 2nd July 2017, which in India is just the beginning of monsoon season. The location Mumbai, being close to seas, sees heavy rainfall every year. The participants travelling from other parts of the world are expected to carry necessary rain gears (Weather Mumbai)
