FAQ

    • The objective of the camp is to enable students to solve problems algorithmically and fast-track them to writing solution code in Python programming language on an online judged competition by the end of the camp. The participants will be made ready to prepare for the Informatics Olympiads (www.codechef.com/ioi) and other programming competitions. The camp will focus on computational thinking and problem solving skills and not on mastering any particular programming language . Python has been chosen as the programming language of instruction for its easy-to-read syntax.

    • The workshop is for 12 days with six hour sessions. Exact time and dates are as per the location.

    • Students will need to carry a notebook with pen/pencils during the workshop. Also, they are encouraged to carry some refreshments and lunch, along with a bottle of water.

    • An interest in mathematics, puzzles, problem solving, and learning more is all that is needed.

    • Students will be provided with a certificate of participation on successful completion of the workshop. In case you will not be able to attend any session, you will need to inform prior.

    • CodeChef is an educational initiative by Directi, an Indian software products company. It is a global programming community that fosters learning and friendly competition, built on top of the world’s largest competitive programming platform. It was started with the aim of improving the programming scenario in the country. CodeChef partners with schools to help students build computational and algorithmic thinking using programming concepts. Through this approach, it builds problem solving and critical thinking in students.
