About Us:
CodeChef is a not-for-profit educational initiative by Directi, an Indian software products company. It is a global programming community that helps students and professionals test and improve their coding skills using algorithmic programming contests. Its vision is for all Indian programmers to be among the best in the globe.
Under the school's outreach program, it is working to make it easy for the younger students to learn to code. For this, CodeChef partners with institutions to conduct orientation sessions to spread awareness and workshops to help school students build computational and algorithmic thinking using programming concepts.
About the Role:
This is an opportunity to work as a workshop manager during its summer workshops. In this role, you’ll be managing a team of workshop trainers (Engineering students) who will be responsible for delivering computer science and programming fundamental content in classrooms. You’ll get hands-on experience of managing teams, coaching people, need analysis and providing differential support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coaching workshop trainers about teaching pedagogies
- Ensuring smooth functioning of all the classrooms
- Observing classrooms and providing feedback to the trainers
- Troubleshooting and providing support to the trainers
- Facilitating weekly meets for the trainers to discuss classroom growth
- Monitoring and recording students’ needs and outcomes
- Creating session resource kits - lesson plans and assessments
Key Takeaways:
The project provides a platform to the applicant to develop a sound understanding of managerial skills such as operations, content creation, group facilitation, strategizing and problem-solving. This may be particularly useful to those who wish to pursue their careers in management/operations/training people.
Time Commitment:
The duration of the internship will be 4-6 weeks, 6 days per week. It will be in summer vacations from May-June as per mutual availability.
Termination:
Any financial irregularity, violation of child protection policy and consistent non-performance will lead to termination.
Stipend:
INR 20,000 per month
